Her academic and professional journey has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of international finance and environmental law, which she aims to integrate into her future career. Lakshana Pattar is completing her LLB at City, University of London. With a strong interest in environmental and corporate law, she volunteers at Protimos, where she conducts research and supports the drafting of legal briefs. She is passionate about using her legal expertise to address pressing global challenges and aspires to make a meaningful impact in her future career.

Renee // Sponsor Coordinator & Treasury

Renée is completing her final year at City, University of London doing Law LLB. Her passion from environmental and social justice stemmed initially from hearing about how developing countries were being disproportionately impacted by environmental and social issues, as they are not as equipped to combat them and deal with them. This, combined with her legal studies, birthed a desire in her to work in a field, which would contribute towards the protection of these vulnerable communities, as well as the rest of the world.

Camilo Cuba, 30 year old lawyer with working experience in international cooperation, sustainable development projects, and human rights.  Currently he is studying his LLM in Environmental Law and Sustainably Development at SOAS University of London. His research interests are focused on right Tom development, indigenous rights and the Amazon role in environmental law.

Rawadh // Podcast Coordinator

Rawdah is a second-year LLB student at City, University of London, dedicated to addressing environmental challenges through the effective use of laws and regulations. She firmly believes that environmental issues are often overlooked by individuals and is determined to drive awareness and meaningful change. Currently studying a sustainability and climate change module at university, she sees this as an excellent opportunity to build on her existing knowledge. Rawdah is thrilled to be participating in PIEL UK and looks forward to contributing to a powerful and impactful conference.

Sonal // Communication and Marketing Coordinator

Sonal Tiwary is pursuing LL.M. at SOAS University of London. He completed his Bachelor in Laws from India and has been awarded prestigious Chevening Scholarship to puruse Master course in U.K. He is an advocate in India providing pro bono legal assistance to the mining affected communities. Sonal has contributed extensively to human rights, environmental law, and constitutional matters. He has also been involved in projects with the United Nations Development Programme and also published a legal handbook on civil liability for human rights violations in India by University of Oxford.

Ashi // Logistics Coordinator

.Ashi is currently pursuing an MSc in Global Energy and Policy at SOAS University of London after receiving a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences while majoring in World Politics at Leiden University in the Netherlands. She aspires to pursue a career in climate policy, which is reflected in her academic and extracurricular pursuits.

Diren is a passionate advocate for environmental justice and human rights, with a focus on connecting human legal systems to the natural law and order of nature. She holds a background in BSc Environmental Sciences and International Development and is currently pursuing an LLM in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development at SOAS. Diren’s work and research reflect her deep interest in integrating philosophical and scientific principles to address pressing global challenges, fostering a holistic understanding of the relationship between humanity and the environment.
